velsa

Honest prices, published in public.

Three ways to run Velsa — open-source, hosted, or your own private container. The incumbents in this category don't publish prices. We do.

Open source

Community Edition

Self-hosted. Community-supported.

$0 / always

The full product, source-available. Deploy it yourself, no contract, no commitment.

Hosted SaaS

Velsa Cloud

We host it. You log in.

from $199 / month

Hosted in AWS US-East. Four tiers, public pricing, cancel any time.

Self-hosted Enterprise

Velsa Enterprise

Private container. Your infrastructure.

from $4,995 / year

Private container on your own infrastructure, with a support contract and enterprise infrastructure controls.

Velsa Cloud — hosted

We host Velsa for you on AWS. Every tier includes the full Bookings, Operations, and Accounting feature surface — SSO, audit logging, and finance exports included. Tiers differ on venue and user limits and support level, not on which features you get. Annual billing saves two months.

Velsa Enterprise — self-hosted

One operating entity running a single venue, in its own private container. Right when one venue wants Velsa under its own roof.

  • Private container, single deployment
  • One venue, unlimited users
  • Security patches and minor-version updates

  • One year of major-version upgrades

Operator

Enterprise Portfolio & Custom

For organizations rolling Velsa out across multiple operating entities — hotel or restaurant groups, university systems with independent campuses, or service- and agency-wide deployments. Licensed per operating entity with volume terms, including BPA and per-installation ordering for government. Also covers FedRAMP-bound, regulated, and sovereign-cloud requirements. We'll scope it honestly.

Velsa Community Edition

The full Velsa product as open source, source-available, and self-hosted. Run it yourself, modify it, fork it, audit it. Standard open-source expectations: community-supported, no SLA, no contract.

Velsa CE

Free, open source, self-hosted forever.

$0

Built so a small venue, a community center, or a university lab can run Velsa for itself without writing a check. The same product as Velsa Cloud — SSO, audit logging, fund accounting, all of it. What you don't get is the commercial wrapper: managed hosting, an SLA with dedicated support, and the enterprise-infrastructure options (data residency, customer-managed encryption keys).

The CE is the foundation. Velsa Cloud and Velsa Enterprise build on it; no fork, no compatibility worry. If you outgrow CE, you can migrate your data into Cloud or Enterprise without conversion friction.

The fine print

Why publish prices when nobody else in this category does?

Because you should be able to evaluate Velsa without an NDA and a sales gauntlet. Software pricing isn't a state secret. The incumbents in venue software hide their numbers because opacity is part of their model. It doesn't have to be.

Annual billing

Every Velsa Cloud tier offers two months free when billed annually. Velsa Enterprise self-hosted tiers are annual by default.

What a license covers — and what counts as "one"

A Velsa license — Cloud or self-hosted — covers one operating entity: a single organization or department that administers its venues as one operation, under one budget or contracting authority, on one deployment, with shared users, clients, and configuration. Venues may span any number of physical locations. A county running six venues across the county, a convention authority with several downtown buildings, a university system, or a military installation with multiple event facilities are each one operating entity — one license.

What a single license does not cover is separately-operated properties or installations that merely share a corporate parent — a hotel or restaurant group where each property runs its own books, or a service-wide rollout across installations that each answer to their own authority. Those are licensed per operating entity under an Enterprise Portfolio agreement, with volume terms (and BPA / per-installation ordering for government). When in doubt, the test is simple: is it run as one operation, under one authority, on one deployment? If yes, it's one license.

What's included in every tier

The full Bookings, Operations, and Accounting feature surface (see Features) — including SSO, audit logging, and the configurable finance exports. Tier differences are about limits and support level, plus a couple of genuinely infrastructure-bound options at the Enterprise tier (data residency, customer-managed encryption keys). Not whether you get to use partitioned spaces, SSO, or fund accounting — those are in every edition, including free Community Edition.

What if I outgrow my plan?

Move up at any time, no migration fee, no data conversion, no downtime. New limits apply on the next billing cycle.

Migrating from another system

We help. Migration from spreadsheets, Tripleseat, Cvent, Momentus, Ungerboeck, EventPro, or anything else with an export is included with annual Growth and above. Contact us for a scoping conversation.

Cancel any time

Velsa Cloud monthly plans cancel any time. Annual plans run to the end of the term and don't auto-renew without an opt-in. We won't trap you in a long contract you can't leave — but multi-year terms are available when you want them, including the base-plus-option-year structures common in government and enterprise procurement. The commitment is your choice, never our requirement.

Taxes

All prices are exclusive of applicable taxes. We collect sales tax where required.
