What is Velsa?
Velsa is an operating system for event venues. It brings bookings, contracts, event-day operations, exhibitor management, and fund accounting into one system — instead of stitching together three or four tools. It's built by Palladium Innovations, LLC.
Is Velsa open source?
Yes. Velsa Community Edition is open source, source-available, and free to self-host. Two commercial options build on the same codebase: Velsa Cloud, a hosted SaaS, and Velsa Enterprise, a private self-hosted container with a support contract and enterprise infrastructure controls. No fork — they're the same product.
How much does Velsa cost?
Velsa publishes its prices. Community Edition is free. Velsa Cloud starts at $199/month (Starter), with Growth at $599/month and Scale at $1,499/month; an Enterprise cloud tier starts from $3,000/month. Self-hosted Velsa Enterprise starts at $4,995/year for a single venue. Every tier includes the full feature set — tiers differ on limits and support level, not which features you get. Is Velsa an alternative to Momentus, Cvent, or Tripleseat?

Can I self-host Velsa?
Yes. Community Edition is free to self-host. Velsa Enterprise is a private container you deploy on your own infrastructure with security patches and a support contract — appropriate when data residency, sovereignty, or air-gapped operation is a hard requirement. If you'd rather not run infrastructure, Velsa Cloud is fully hosted.
Does Velsa support SSO, security, and compliance requirements?
Yes. Velsa supports single sign-on via SAML and OIDC with group-based role mapping, per-venue role-based access control, required multi-factor authentication for administrators, and a tamper-proof audit log. It's built to WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility. Velsa comes from a service-disabled veteran-owned small business with experience shipping under the DoD Risk Management Framework at Information Protection Levels 2 through 6.
Does Velsa handle accounting?
Yes — real accounting, not just invoice generation. Velsa provides fund accounting over a shared chart of accounts, an audit-grade double-entry journal, Balance Sheet and Income Statement, fiscal-year budgets with variance, invoicing across every revenue source, payments and refunds with automated dunning, and a fully configurable general-ledger export that matches whatever external finance system you use.
Can Velsa import my data from another system?
Yes. Velsa has a guided CSV importer for clients, chart of accounts, and bookings: map your columns, preview every row before anything is written, commit, and reverse the whole import within seven days if it isn't right. Hands-on migration help is included with annual Growth plans and above.
Who is Velsa for?
Velsa is built for the teams who run real venues — convention and civic centers, county tourism and convention authorities, university and campus event operations, fairgrounds, expo halls, and trade-show operators. The fund accounting and audit trail make it a particularly good fit for government and non-profit venues.
